You can book a dive or a first dive by telephone 00230 263 7508, or by e-mail contact@sunset-diving.mu, or by visiting the dive centre during opening hours. To confirm your booking you will need to pay a deposit of 15€ or 500rs in person at the centre or via the deposit payment link on our website, sunset-diving.mu. Non-refundable if cancelled the same day or if no show.

Most of the time the sites are decided on the morning of the dive, depending on the weather, as some sites are not accessible in bad weather, and also depending on the divers on the day. We can’t commit to sites in advance, as they may be changed on the day.

There are 2 types of first dive, the simple dive (68€ + 5€ insurance) and the advanced dive (+ 123€).   

With a simple first dive, you’ll have a theory lesson with a qualified instructor, who will explain to you how to communicate underwater and how to use the equipment. You’ll then do safety exercises at 2 metres in the pool or in the open water if conditions allow, followed by a 25-minute exploration at a maximum depth of 6 metres, all in the lagoon, where the fauna is not very extensive. This is more of an introduction to scuba diving.

With the First Dive +, you’ll do exactly the same thing as with the First Dive simple, but afterwards we’ll go to a real dive site outside the coral reef, still supervised by your instructor, at a maximum depth of 12 metres (around 40 minutes, depending on air consumption). You’ll see a lot of beautiful things here! The instructor reserves the right to ask you to do the second dive or not, depending on the progress of the first dive and your underwater skills.

Expect a minimum of half a day.

We can start scuba diving at the age of 8, to test the equipment and do a first dive.

There must be a minimum of 12 hours between getting out of the water and getting on the plane for a first dive or a single dive. 18 hours minimum for 2 consecutive dives. The same applies after landing from a flight.

You can park in the alleyways opposite the centre, where we always find space. Or you can park in the Super U car park, which is a 5-minute walk from the diving centre.

The next Shark Pit is posted on our Facebook page when it is scheduled. We do not offer it between the end of May and the beginning of October. We do the Shark Pit, which is 1 hour’s sailing away, between 1 and 2 times a month maximum. This is decided according to the weather, which must be perfect for sailing in the north of Mauritius. A minimum of 6 divers is required. With a minimum open water level (18m) and experience, especially in the current, this is sport diving!

Accompanying persons are only allowed on the boat if there is space available. We give priority to divers, as places on the boat are limited. We can only find out on the day of the dive. The price for the accompanying person will then be €40.
